A Doorway in the Desert

The idea for this piece came about during an art composition class when we were experimenting with the idea of "unity". The repeating shapes tie the piece together even as the colors change from warm to cool.

This piece features hand-painted gouache shapes in desert colors. The final photo shows the hand-cut shapes in more detail.

Artwork measures 7x9.5 inches. Black mat measures 11x14 inches.
